CIA
BLUEBIRD (1950) – Early CIA program exploring interrogation methods, hypnosis, and drugs to control or extract information from subjects.
ARTICHOKE (1951–1953) – Successor to BLUEBIRD; expanded into using drugs, hypnosis, sensory deprivation, and psychological torture to break prisoners.
